Which simulation method use for a specific application and frequency range in automotive?

During the last decades multiple simulation methods have been developed and are now available for the industry to support the design process. From the very detailed deterministic FEM or BEM methods to retrieve results to the SEA method to recover component level results at high frequency, Each method has its strengths and weaknesses depending of the application, excitation type and frequency range. This presentation will review some of the main methods used by the automotive industry (SEA, FEM, BEM, PEM), and propose, for typical application cases (full vehicle trim package optimization, component level investigation…), solutions to perform efficiently the design of a vehicle.
